These six songs were recorded in the spring of 2020, part of a half-formed scheme to make an Elton John album by Daniel Nickerson. When it became clear that wasn't about to happen, they made themselves at home on the shelf, content to watch the world spin for a spell. During that time, Tea and me did some moving around with our pal Clover the dog, and ended up in a round house on the side of a field of watermelons and pumpkins. Circles everywhere you look. We even got a cat now, whose name is Pretty Sweet Donut, who is sleeping on my lap as I tap these words into the laptop that will send these tunes off the shelf and into the world. How about a poem to finish the send off?

Spirit donuts for hungry ears
soul snacks
riding down the radio waves of morning
sliding past half finished cups of coffee
& over day old newspapers.

Sweet message of music - rhythm is
rippling through the room in concentric rings
& rolling endlessly out the stereo -
a yellow brick road in every home.

Spirit donuts are for breakfast
at the cafe in the sun.

The medium is the message
& morning has just begun.
